The MetroTones Pop Chorus

Greater Moncton's Largest Chorus Since 2001

Heaven’s choir has gained another tenor with the passing of Gilbert Arseneau of Riverview. He passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. Born in Marathon, ON he was the son of the late Augustin and Augustine (Roy) Arseneau.
Gilbert will be dearly missed by his wife Linda Arseneau, daughter Tammy Arseneau Harris (Michael); son Shawn Arseneau; sisters Patsy Howatt (late Roger), Betty Ann MacAlpine (Jerry), Theresa Cardy (Barry); brothers Richard Arseneau (Bernice), Michael Arseneau (Mary). Claude Arseneau (Shauna), Gary Arseneau (Sonji), Robert Arseneau (Brenda), Alvin Arseneau, Roger Arseneau; grandchildren Daniel, Chase, Cadence, Caige and many nieces and nephews; and his best friend of 67 years, Alan Gaudet.
Though he worked his whole career in the engineering field, his greatest focus was building memories with his family. One of his greatest passions was going to “man camp” with his brothers, along with annual family lobster boils at the cottage. Gil and Linda have created beautiful music together throughout their entire marriage, and were fortunate to become members of the local singing sensations, the Metrotones, over the last 20 years. Countless people in the community have benefited from their concerts and fundraising, but not as much as the choir members, with their close-knit relationships that are now like a second family.
His family will be receiving friends and relatives on Monday, June 21, 2021 from 4-6 pm with a sharing of memories at 5:00 pm at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007). Donations made to the TransCanada Trail or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by Gilbert’s family. Online condolences may be expressed at
